THE TASTE ME VOYAGE
This album is a special offshoot from the album that was supposed to be my first album. I decided to change plans and release something a bit simpler and sooner. The original album is more complex, due to it being an artsy concept story, and was taking forever to complete. The interim plan was to release an EP ahead of it, but it grew. Both albums do not adhere to any one genre, other than being Electronic.
The tracks in “The Ride Home Misfitz” share a bit with the title track from a musical suite, I’m writing, called “The Ride Home”. They are a part of the original album’s story, as continuity in concept and soundtrack albums usually happens; but I decided not to include them on that album. “The Past Waves Goodbye” is also one of the Misfitz from that album; more like Otherz in reality. Thus makes the two albums, in some ways, related.
“No Turning Back”, and “The Past Waves Goodbye” were originally written for a project that was discontinued. “HiWay Interlude” was chosen for that project also. They are for the most part, 60 seconds in length each. I wanted them to be a part of this album, but three 60 second songs was not appealing to me; so “No Turning Back” & “HiWay Interlude” were each extended with Intros.
“HiWay Interlude” was originally part of another song I had in my catalogue; a “Ride Home” Prequel called “Heart Of The HiWay”. It just happened to be 60 seconds in length. That together with the short intro track “Engage”, make “HiWay Misfitz”.
“No Turning Back” was written ahead of this album project. “The Misfit Voyage” and “Moving On” were created solely for this album. They all are fitting parts of a story that ends an era of life as another has already begun, as in “The Past Waves Goodbye”.
“Marz” & “EmAura” were also written ahead of this album project.
“Marz” is actually “Marz 2”; The original #1 form with the added drum part. It originally began as a sound effects project and uses all home made synth sounds, as well as “Marz 3”, with the exception of most of the drum sounds.
“EmAura” is thinking about someone I knew.
Home made sounds appear, to some degree, in a lot of the tracks, especially “The Past Waves Goodbye”, which uses all.
“Nebulosis” was written for this album as a way to enjoy a Saturday afternoon. Also the result of a sound effects project.
“The Commuter” was written, on and off, over the course of two years. Trying to make a simpler album, I originally was going to include a couple of my much older tracks, in their present form. I was also planning on a remake of a track I wrote called “Here In Space”. I began with rewriting the original bass part and continued with a structure format I had in mind for a long while. I wanted the track to have a break in the middle, of just synths without drums. I was hanging with my daughter and I sang, into my phone pocket recorder, what became “You Are Beautiful”; with her name as the original title. That became my synth break. I scraped the idea of the track rewrite and decided to create something new. I kept the feel and rhythm of the new bass part and kept the new sections, I wrote, called “
“Pigments” followed immediately after, and is named after a synth used to make it. “Project X” is exactly like the original pocket recorder idea, of it; and was a track I wanted to use as an intro. The two sets for “I’m Here” were done in two consecutive fun on Saturday writing sessions. The music part for “The Wheel” took all spring and summer of 2025 to compose. The drum parts were added a few months later along with the other four sections in “On My Way”.
And then there’s “The Fog”. The only surviving old track here. Created originally in 1998. It remains in its mostly original form with a few added sounds and a name change.
The 2 stand alone tracks “In The Dark” & “Marz 3” were created during the writing for this album.
